Recent Experiments, I'm Hiring(!), and One Simple Practice for Better Conversations That You Can Try Today

Hi Reader,

Wow, another month gone by. Welcome to the folks who recently joined the newsletter , and thank you all for being here.

I've personally been feeling a mix of emotions this month due to some of the chaos seen around the world and in the US itself. I've gone from angry, sad, hopeful in possible new opportunities in the chaos, and a lot in between.

I've tried a bunch of new things this month. I've been posting videos on social media, creating a behind the scenes overview of what I'm trying to do with work around connection, leadership, and solidarity, running group events, creating resources, and talking to a lot of people. All of which I share learnings, tips, and inspirations in this newsletter.

My mission here is to:

  • Help people have better relationships in general and through differences
  • Grow leadership skills that inspires creativity, action, and innovation in personal and group interactions
  • Through the above help people have better health in staying more connected to our humanness

Recent Experiments

The book Tiny Experiments has inspired a mantra for me this year. In experiments there is no failure, only data to inform your next experiments. Here are a few things I've been trying.

🎥 I've been posting lots of videos on social media. If you want to see what's been on my mind lately, you can view and follow on your preferred platform at the very bottom of this letter.
🫣 I'm trying out a monthly behind-the-scenes video series to provide an inside look at what I'm building. Let me know what you think if you're able.
📌 I'm nearly finished with a long form video about a topic I've been talking about a lot: Manufactured Disconnection. It will be hosted on YouTube and subscribers to this newsletter get to watch it before it premiers publicly. If you want to get notified on the pre-release, sign up for my content updates, which alert you whenever I drop a new resource (1-3 times a month and very brief).

I'm Hiring!!

I'm ecstatic to report that my work has been growing so fast that I can't keep up with it all! I need to hire someone to help me scale. The help I need is one part operations, and another part creative.

The role will be part time to start, but I expect it to grow into full time. And, perhaps co-ownership for anyone deeply aligned to the mission. If you or anyone you know might be interested, please take a look at the job posting!​

One Simple Communication Practice You Can Try Today

I believe that while talking about concepts and ideas is great, we truly grasp skills by practicing them. In this short clip from our last group session, I explain a simple practice that you can try in almost any conversation to deepen understanding and connection.

I've been using this for weeks and it has been profound in helping me understand others, and helping others understand me. This one has become a core part of how I talk to people now.
