June: Human Skills for the Future
This month, we turn our attention to distinguishing and holding on to what makes us human.

QUICK SUMMARY
Here's the TLDR version. If any of these draw your attention, you can find more detail in the rest of the email.

Our theme this month is Human Skills for the Future
In a world that increasingly tells us that AI can do things better than humans, it feels more important than ever to discuss and define human skills. What exactly are these skills? If we can't first define them, we can't practice them.
This month, we look at how we can take ourselves to the human gym of Life and flex our muscles of being real humans, not merely faces in phones or robots for productivity or consumption. We are meant for more! Come with us as we look at how to maintain our humanity in the face of increasingly technological times.

Last Month Event Recap
As I said, May's event was my favorite of the year so far. I loved the engagement and discussion that followed out of this talk. Take a look at the recording here as well as our 7-day practice guide.
Upcoming Events
In a few weeks, we'll explore five skills that are distinctly and deeply human. Traits that AI can simulate but never truly replicate. Skills that, if we stop practicing them, begin to wither. And skills that, when we remember and cultivate them, make us more healthy, more effective, more connected, and more alive in our work, our relationships, and the world.
New Event: A Roadmap for Modern Masculinity
I've been leading men's groups for almost 10 years. In these groups we explore health masculinity in the modern world while challenging each other to be better men. With the rise of the "manosphere" and so many negative examples of masculinity being promoted, this work seems more important than ever.
Join us to hear my thoughts on what a healthy roadmap could look like, and some ways to make it a reality. This event is for anyone struggling with this topic, not just men.

Practicing Human Skills
Every month, we offer a human skill that you can practice to improve your relationships and health. Some human skills don't come naturally, but they can with practice.
Here's something you can try for a day or a week to bring more consciousness into your life and to create moments of deeper connection right where you are.
Practice "being awake" to your inner and outer world. Increasing your awareness builds your capacity to imagine, to connect and to create.
The one-week challenge: Practice noticing. See how aware you can become of your thoughts, your body, your sensations. For example, how awake are you, how calm are you, how present are you to your surroundings?
See if you can identify when you are ruminating, feeling grounded, blaming, or having creative or compassionate thoughts. Look for patterns in your day. Are certain experiences more present at different times of day? Notice how you feel.
You might be surprised how bringing more consciousness to your days delivers different gifts.
